When to seek a Counsellor:
If you struggle with any of the following, it may be time to seek counselling!
- Stress. When we find ourselves stressed we may have difficulties with our day-to-day. You can feel overwhelmed, irritable, angry or sad. We all experience stress but there comes a time when it can be hard to manage on your own.
- Anxiety. Experiencing anxiety at some point in life is completely normal. At a job interview, presentation or even a first date. Anxiety becomes a problem when we no longer have control, or feel triggered in non-threatening situations. A counsellor can help work through this with the use of different strategies and techniques allowing you to gain control over your life again.
- Depression. If you feel like you’ve lost hope or interest in things you used to love, you may be experiencing depression. Depression can be experienced as an overwhelming sadness with no end in sight. Counselling can provide that missing hope.
- Relationships. Do you want to improve the quality of your relationships? Do you want to increase positive communication and listening skills? Working with a counsellor allows for this. Role-playing and other therapeutic techniques can help to improve skills needed for better relationships whether they be intimate or work-related.
