Jill Purdy
Athletic Therapist
Jill’s journey toward becoming an Athletic Therapist began in high school, where she took a sports medicine class and had the opportunity to work with a volleyball team as a student trainer. It was in that role that she discovered her passion for helping others. Her love of both sport and medicine naturally led her to pursue a degree in Kinesiology from Brock University.
While at Brock, Jill was mentored by respected professionals Joe Kenny, Karen Miller, and Jim Bilotta, all while working as a student Athletic Therapist for the Brock University Varsity Fencing Team. Her studies in physiology, anatomy, and sport psychology further solidified her desire to help people through movement and recovery, guiding her to continue her education in Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University.
At Mount Royal, Jill gained critical hands-on experience and developed the skills necessary to become both a First Responder and a specialist in musculoskeletal injuries. She completed two enriching practicums—first with the volleyball teams at Ambrose University, and then with the women’s soccer team and both the men’s and women’s basketball teams at the University of Calgary. These experiences deepened her passion for helping others and applying her knowledge in real-world settings.
Now a certified Athletic Therapist, Jill is excited to work in a multi-sport environment where she can continue empowering individuals to “Recover. Regain. Return.” Her mission is to help people feel better, move confidently, and get back to pursuing the activities they love.
